WELCOME TO JUNIPER RAG | an Art Advocacy Project of Atelier ID Global

Contemporary art to elevate and enrich our spaces—

We are building communities around art, culture and connection, serving as a bridge between individuals and the transformative power of art and shared experiences. We enrich communities by facilitating dialogue, and creating spaces where cultural expression and creative practices contribute to personal and collective well-being and growth. Juniper Rag blends curation, creative activism, and like-minded collaborators to inspire personal growth and deeper connections through artistic and cultural engagement. We believe in surrounding ourselves with art, creativity and the people that share themselves through art.

Art makes our world a much more connected and beautiful place, let’s harness the power of collaboration.

Juniper Rag was founded to elevate artists, as a resource for collectors and art-related organizations —to provide a bridge to the art world that enriches our lives. Founded in 2020, our mission is driven by our ability to organize and connect people to the arts as advocates.

We are exhibitionists with an eye for great work.

We love connecting artists, collectors and businesses that strive to have a vibrant environment. We value real artists, real stories and real people.

An art journal hybrid—

Juniper Rag goes deep exposing the magic behind the art.

  • View our exhibitions & learn about the artists

  • Guest curators and writers expand our views to include other perspectives

  • Read our articles on Art Vérité

  • Follow @juniperrag on social

We critically engage with a purpose and a difference—creating original content artists can quote.

Juniper Rag highlights significant art that resonates, challenges, and reflects the times we live in. We take a closer, more thoughtful look at process and ideas worth noticing, asking deeper questions and highlighting work with emotional impact. We are informed by submissions, but in most cases dig past the surface to include the reasons why the art speaks to us. We also share the insight of guest curators and writers.

Our goals are to share artwork —in person + virtually that should be shared with the world.

For artists, collectors and partners—

Offering insight, critique, promotion, opportunities and community far beyond exhibitions.

At Juniper Rag, we believe that looking at art and talking about why artists create the work they do — is essential to understanding ourselves and the world we live in.

Our platform of art and articles on Art Vérite invite a wide audience: artists, collectors, art lovers, and community members. We write in an approachable, human tone, free from the jargon that too often confuses and distances people from an artist’s message.

We highlight living, working artists, exhibitions, and cultural dialogue in ways that are easy to understand and accessible to all.

At the same time, Juniper Rag goes deeper than typical art promotion magazines by engaging with ideas, not just trends. Our features include critical essays, thought-provoking themes, and conceptual framing that encourage readers to pause and reflect.

We take risks with content and our exhibitions, lean into risk-taking and experimentation, and embrace layered perspectives. In this way, Juniper Rag sits between a magazine-style approach and an academic journal: visually rich and inviting, yet thoughtful and idea-driven, a publication that recognizes and records the voices of artists whose stories reflect the spirit of our time. Mark Lynch from WICN’s Inquiry asked us when we launched why we did not call ourselves an art journal, we just weren’t there yet. We were new and finding our groove.

Juniper Rag is an idea-driven hybrid, a journal and a platform that shines light on artists whose stories speak to the spirit of today. We get fired up by those voices and want to amplify them.

How do we elevate artists + impact their journey?

Right from Randy Akers, first an artist, now a friend—

“I am a professional visual artist working full time since 2014 and living on Skidaway Island, Georgia. I had met Robin Reynolds in the MFA Grad Program at SCAD (Savannah) and we reconnected about 8 years ago on Instagram. Robin is a highly successful painter living and working in Massachusetts and told me about a start-up mag called Juniper Rag. I responded to an open call and was received nicely with all the appropriate write-ups, advocacy, and social media plugs. At this point in my career, I was only interested in competitions and museum shows that were regional...not galleries. Sales were limited and word of mouth. As I moved forward I started expanding to connecting to national Galleries in Florida, Colorado, Memphis, Hilton Head and now California. Juniper Rag became the impetus to measure audience response to my work and through that encouraged me to branch out and even focus on more specific content. They always featured my upcoming shows and new work consistently on Social Media as well. The Magazine founders have always been outstanding advocates for the Arts and their reach extends to the West Coast and beyond. I have become Instagram "friends" with several of the artists featured on Juniper Rag. The editors also did a piece on a Residency I attended in Ireland, which became sort of an international outreach. I am pretty proactive in my approach for new audiences and Juniper Rag has been the positive impetus to make many of those needed connections. My relationship with Juniper Rag and the founders has been very organic, but also something I highly value and treasure. It will be very interesting to see where they and their audience go from here." —Randy Akers, Skidaway Island, Georgia

We believe at Juniper Rag, that to create a vibrant and authentic home environment, original artwork brings culture and community to your space.

Your home is where you live, may work, and will gather, again —made more vibrant with touches of handmade objects and pieces of art collected over time. Research shows that children that grow up learning about and making art have more appreciation for culture and creativity, growing into strong critical thinkers with a more connected feeling about community.

We know that art brings so much value to our lives — it generates an emotional response, sparks interesting conversations, and represents a memory. It may eventually serve as a smart investment or a treasured heirloom.

No matter what your style is — classic, farmhouse, whimsical, minimalist to maximalist, art transforms. We have launched our Art Market to increase placement of art into new homes and to help collectors—old and new discover new artists. If you have questions, need measurements or additional information, we are here.

Do you have a creative home? We would love to feature your style in Juniper Rag. Contact us if you would like to be featured or to learn more about the artwork in Juniper Rag. info@juniperrag.com

“When I speak with clients, I describe our process and let them know how critical art and special curiosities are, as they reflect their lifestyle. These items need to be placed on visible surfaces and areas that enhance the vision of the homeowner and have meaning.”
