HANNAH COLE DAHAR | MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE

Hannah Cole Dahar is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, sculpture, and fine art jewelry. She explores the complexities of womanhood, creating pieces that provoke thought and conversation about the physical and emotional experiences women endure. Her jewelry has elements of discomfort visually and or physically like the societal constraints placed on women, both historically and in contemporary contexts.

Her paintings often feature women adorned with the jewelry she crafts, capturing them as strong, nuanced figures whose stories challenge traditional gender roles. These portraits are not just representations of adornment but embodiments of power, struggle, and resilience. Hannah’s work is deeply rooted in feminism, focusing on the narratives of women as individuals and as a collective, examining how identity is shaped by external expectations and internal realities.

By blending the tactile with the visual, Hannah invites viewers to engage with themes of restriction, resistance, and empowerment. Her art becomes a platform for dialogue about physical and psychological boundaries women continue to navigate.

Hannah Cole Dahar is an artist and teacher that lives in New Hampshire. As a child she spent many a day with her father at his monument shop and cemeteries throughout northern New England. She lived in 2 haunted houses and devoured books of myths and fairy tales which fueled her overactive imagination and morbid sense of humor.

Hannah’s artwork is rooted in history, mythology, and the exploration of the mystical and magical aspects of life. She has a deep love for the mysterious, strange, and beautiful. Each morning on her walk she collects little marvels of nature and incorporates them into her artwork and ritual practice. She believes everything done with intent holds power.
