Tristan Olsen is a skateboarder artist based out of Framingham, Massachusetts. Including impressionism to skateboarding’s DIY mindset Tristan depicts skatespots, their environment, and the community using broken skateboards as his surface. Painting on location, the artist skates his subjects, interweaving the unequivocal joy of skateboarding and art. Member of the Copley Society member since 2025
To go out to skate in New England is to inevitably be bathing in sunlight, either the beams hit you from above or the reverberating waves bounce off the concrete. Frying and toasting us during the summer yet is desperately craved in the winter, when the slivers of rays are a god-send in a session. I really tried to capture that oven-like feel in the concrete with my skate paintings, or how its a sweet kiss of light as the sun sets and contorts itself around to get to you. It’s so basic and primal, but thank you sun.
