John Kenney is a Master of Arts candidate in Studio Art at Arizona State University, where he explores printmaking, book arts, and mixed media practices. He earned his BFA in Graphic Design from ASU and brings nearly three decades of professional experience in design, branding, advertising, and creative direction to his studio work. His cookbook design Small Space, Big Taste received the 2022 Best of Community Award at Phoenix Design Week. In addition to his creative practice, Kenney teaches Digital Design and Advertising at Grand Canyon University.

His work investigates travel, place, and the structures that shape human experience across time and geography. Working in printmaking, collage, mixed media, and artist books, he explores movement, memory, identity, and access as lived experience. Through layered processes including linocut, screen printing, letterpress, collage, and digital media, he examines how journeys are documented, remembered, and interpreted through material and visual forms.
