LARRY JOUBERT
Growing up as a young boy in South America, I was captivated by images. My first camera was a plastic Diana before shifting to 35mm. But it was the darkroom that truly pulled me in, watching a photo slowly appear in the developer tray felt like magic.
I moved to Boston for photography school and met my future wife, also a photographer. We started out in the commercial world, sharpening our skills and creative vision. Over time, I transitioned to digital, carrying the lessons of the darkroom into a new way of seeing. The tools changed, but the wonder never left.
For over a decade now, my wife has been designing road trips through Europe. We drive, explore, photograph, and immerse ourselves in local cultures. This inspires my work which is rooted in quiet observation. I’m drawn to light, color, and a sense of space, moments that feel honest and alive. The magic often lives in the small shifts, the in-between moments you almost miss.
I aim to make images that hold a sense of place and emotion—photographs that invite you in, bring joy and linger in your memory.
