AMALIA TAGARIS

ARTIST BIO

Amalia Tagaris is a contemporary mixed-media artist whose bold new direction merges vibrant acrylic painting with innovative collage techniques.

After years of exploring the ancient medium of encaustic painting, she has recently pivoted toward dynamic acrylic collages that layer torn street posters, hand-painted textures, and translucent washes to create works that pulse with energy and narrative depth.

This experimental phase marks an exciting evolution: urban fragments are transformed into luminous florals, blending the raw pulse of city life.

The result is a fresh, tactile language, simultaneously structured and spontaneous, that invites viewers to discover hidden stories beneath the surface.

Currently based in both Brookline, MA and Kennebunkport, ME, Amalia continues to push boundaries, embracing risk and play as core principles of her evolving practice.

Her latest series celebrates renewal, resilience, and the beauty found in reassembly, both in art and in life.
