TO GIVE THE GIFT OF ART
COLLECTOR’S EDIT 2026
JURIED BY MICHELLE MAY & PAYAL THIFFAULT OF JUNIPER RAG
CALL DEADLINE: OCTOBER 18
Original art changes a room. More importantly, it changes the way we live with it.
The Collector’s Edit brings together a tightly considered selection of original works chosen for their ability to be collected, lived with and remembered. These are works with a point of view—pieces that introduce an artist’s voice into your home and become part of the visual history of the people who live there.
For the emerging collector, this is a chance to begin with something original and personal, made by hand with intention from one of our Juniper Rag artists. For the seasoned collector, it is an opportunity to discover an artist outside the expected, add a new voice to the collection or simply fall in love with a piece of artwork that refuses to be overlooked.
Yes—art makes an exceptional holiday gift.
Art adorns the spaces in which we live and spend our time. Giving art is uniquely meaningful because it says something, “I saw this. I thought of you. I knew you would understand and love it.”
At Juniper Rag, we believe collecting art should feel exciting and deeply personal, whether it is the collector who gets captivated or someone who cares enough to give the gift of art. There is no better time to start—or to find the next piece.
ABOUT THE COLLECTOR’S EDIT
This exhibition is a seasonal exhibition (formerly ART SHOP) we have been hosting twice a year in Spring and Holiday.
The key difference this time is that we will be hosting online and in the gallery. A hybrid show with all the work up online. Not all will be on view in the gallery, however. Artists from outside our delivery radius can submit to be listed on our website and be promoted just like always.
We bring together a curated selection of original works by artists from across the United States. Conceived as a welcoming space for discovery, COLLECTOR’S EDIT invites both emerging and established creators to share their practice with a wider audience — artists are not beholden to shipping and all the expenses that gallery walls require, unless you are local and prefer.
Submission style example below that works best, a series of work with similar color ways, styling or theme. These by Denise Lafer have all 3, but they do not have to be this literal. Your submissions should always be cohesive and hang together well. For instance, do not submit a painting, a photo and a line drawing. Submit 3 of the same style, colorway or vibe.
This year, collecting comes with a little extra play.

“As a figurative oil painter who began working seriously in 2019, I was still finding my footing when I discovered Juniper Rag through a call for art in 2022. At the time, I was submitting to the occasional local show and navigating the art world with more questions than answers. Juniper Rag changed that.
Their platform opened doors I hadn’t imagined—from gaining collectors in Newton, Worcester, Boston, and Newport, to building lasting relationships with artists across the globe. What sets Juniper Rag apart is not just their reach, but their heart. The support and guidance I received—from how to approach submissions, to articulating my work, to navigating social media and applications—was generous, strategic, and deeply human.
Their curatorial vision is on fire. I’ve watched their exhibitions evolve with increasing depth and sophistication, culminating in the current show Delirium—a cinematic, emotionally charged triumph that’s their best yet.
Michelle and Payal, the visionary co-founders, have created more than a publication or a platform—they’ve built a community. One that is ambitious yet inclusive, high-level yet grounded in real connection. I now count them as friends, and I’m endlessly grateful for the role they’ve played in my growth as an artist.
If you’re an Artist looking for a place that sees your potential and helps you rise into it, Juniper Rag is that place.” —Simone Scholes, 2025
