John Dunkelberg is a creator of fantastical, figurative-driven work combining composite photography and digital painting. This digital mixed media approach creates glimpses of imagined scenes rich with texture and story, featuring central figures whose human presence brings sensuality, strength, and vulnerability. The viewer is invited to bring their own imagination and create their own interpretive story, which undoubtedly will be different from that of the artist or of the next viewer.

John is a self-taught artist with a life-long love of imaginative creation in many forms, and hopes to encourage others that they can rediscover art in middle-age. John enjoys collaborating with local models and makeup artists, each of whom brings their own personality and creativity that is reflected in the final piece. He works from the Hudson Art Studios of Hudson, Massachusetts and his work can be found in the lobby gallery there.
