MOUSHUMI SAMANT | AUBURN, MASSACHUSETTS

Fifteen-year-old Moushumi Samant is a promising fine artist and student from Auburn, Massachusetts, where she also serves on the Auburn Art Council. Her recent work, a striking double self-portrait, entitled “What Consumes”, featured in the Delirium exhibition with Juniper Rag, reveals a remarkable depth of introspection and technical skill beyond her years.

Alongside her artistic pursuits, Moushumi is studying biology and is a proud member of the National Honor Society, balancing academic excellence with a growing creative vision that bridges science and art.

Activities and societies: Math Team, Student Council, International Club, Bharatnatyam- Indian Classical Dance, Chamber Choir, Art Club. She also speaks English, Hindi and has working language proficiencies in Bengali, Marathi, Spanish and Urdu. Moushumi is also training as a singer.

Moushumi holds a seat on the Auburn Cultural Council, and is Secretary of the Council.

As just a sophomore, Moushumi Samant demonstrates a commendable commitment to her art, courageously submitting her work alongside seasoned and established artists, some who have shown in museums. Her participation in DELIRIUM reflects not only her talent and determination but also the importance of mentorship and community in nurturing young creatives. With the encouragement of supportive parents who recognize the value of art in their child’s life, Moushumi embodies the next generation of artists—curious, disciplined, and unafraid to take her place in the larger artistic conversation.

Juniper Rag was very proud to give this opportunity to Moushumi and to display her work in DELIRIUM in this commemoration with THT Rep and JMAC, Worcester. We hope this encourages other young artists to take a place in our community.
