BIO

I am a French painter, writer, and educator based in Boston. My work is built on a single conviction: that attention is an act of devotion. I practice and teach slow art: a way of making and looking that resists speed and trusts what only patience can reveal.

I grew up painting beside my maternal grandmother in the Dordogne Valley of Southwest France, where the land held its stories underground, like black truffles growing in darkness beneath oak roots. A cancer diagnosis later sent me back to the easel — no longer a skill to refine, but a way to breathe through convalescence and meet each day with renewed, childlike curiosity.

My paintings move between poetic realism, expressionism, and abstraction, offering an escape into vibrant vistas: a window of distilled joy. Just as sediment shapes geological landforms, my work captures the layers of memory and emotion that deposit, slowly, in our minds.

My paintings are exhibited in galleries throughout New England and the UK. This summer, I'm leading sensory workshops, “Taste, Scent, Image” at the Château de Mercuès, in France, alongside my ongoing contemplative painting workshops and my debut novel, Scent of a Truffle, winner of the 2025 Readable Feast People's Choice Award.

When not painting, I teach French at Wellesley College, and hold a Ph.D. from Boston University and a Master's in English and Art History from La Sorbonne in Paris. I work from my studio at SoWa in Boston's South End, where painting, writing, and teaching remain one continuous practice of paying attention.
