GG Rigelhaupt is a artist & designer living in RI. Her current practice is paper collage. The fact that collage resonated with her is not surprising, as her previous professional life was consumed with designing communications on paper. For a decade in the 80’s, she ran a small design consultancy in the blooming Flatiron district in NYC. Upon her decision to adopt a daughter from China, as a single mom, she pivoted and brought her design chops to the corporate world as a creative exec. She designed for wide range of clients including ESPN, MTV/Comedy Central, Lucasfilm, Random House, TimeLife, US Air, DeBeers, The Wool Bureau, Dancing in the Streets, and Joe Boxer.

As a graphic designer and creative director her work won numerous awards from AIGA, Print, ID, CA, Graphis, Billboard, NY Art Directors Club among others. She was profiled internationally in Applied Arts/Canada and IDEA MAgazine/Japan, where she subsequently contributed articles on women designers in the US. She also judged design competitions, guest lectured, and was on the advisory board for the Graphic Design Dept at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

In the mid 2000’s, she started The Naked Stone to make one-of-a-kind jewelry. The work was chosen for an A+ Award for new designers, and exhibited at the NY Design/Gift Fair. The collection incorporates unusual and imperfect natural stones, ancient and vintage beads, sterling silver accents and stainless steel wire.
