My mixed media collages are created from original vintage and found papers—fragments of photographs, books, magazines, and ephemera that carry the stories and histories of those who came before us. By tearing apart and reconstructing these materials, I create new narratives that explore memory, identity, and the lived experiences of women. Women are at the center of my work. I am drawn to examining how women have been portrayed, the expectations placed upon them, and the often-overlooked labor of women's
work.
The vintage imagery I use reflects cultural ideals of the past; through collage, I challenge, reimagine, and reclaim those narratives. Each piece is figurative and narrative, built through an intuitive process of deconstruction and reconstruction. What begins as disconnected fragments becomes a new story, shaped by both personal experience and collective memory. The act of tearing is as important as the act of mending—it allows me to dismantle familiar images and create space for new meaning. My collages are deeply rooted in my own life experiences. They are a place where memory, observation, humor, loss, and resilience coexist.
By giving discarded fragments a new purpose, I create works that honor the complexity of women's lives and reclaim stories that deserve to be seen, remembered, and retold.
