After a 40-year career designing digital experiences, I traded pixels for paper in 2021 and became a full-time artist.

Early in the pandemic, a fellow artist introduced me to gelatin plate printing. I immediately fell in love with the medium and began exploring printmaking and collage. Today, I use the gelatin plate to create richly textured papers that become the foundation of my collages. Working intuitively, I allow each piece to evolve as I solve the visual puzzle.

My process is highly organic. I rarely begin with a specific idea; instead, I look to the assortment of papers, textures, and fragments scattered across my very messy worktable for inspiration. Sometimes a collage comes together effortlessly and simply works. Other times, it becomes a complete mess, requiring me to clear the slate and begin again. I love the challenge of discovering unexpected connections between disparate pieces of paper and bringing them into conversation with one another.

Through layers, texture, and composition, I strive to create a sense of depth and visual harmony. Balancing shape, line, color, and texture is at the heart of my work. As I’ve learned throughout my life, simplicity is often the most difficult thing to achieve.

I currently serve as Membership Chair of the Newton Arts Association and as a board member of SparkNewton. My work has been featured in five solo exhibitions, as well as numerous group shows and Open Studios. I am planning my next solo exhibition for September 2026 in Worcester.
