My work is an investigation into the tension between structure and fluidity, grounded in the intentional embrace of the "imperfect" mark. After years in a professional world that demanded polished results, I have found a deeper purpose in the raw, honest language of clay. In my current sculptural series, b/form, I push past physical limits to explore the fragile boundary between the material and the air around it. I am drawn to paper-thin edges and ruffles that mimic the erratic beauty of natural growth. By working with a minimalist palette, I invite the viewer to see the tactile evidence of the making process: the fingerprints, the seams, and the subtle shifts in pressure that occur during construction. These forms represent the energy of transformation. They are a reflection of my own journey—a move away from the expected toward a more ethereal, expressive way of being. Each piece is a held moment of growth, capturing the liberation found in finally allowing a form to unfold.

My professional life has been a collection of many chapters—from the high-energy worlds of global merchandising to luxury real estate in Los Angeles. For a long time, my work was about building my family and raising my kids. But after moving to New England, I found myself looking for a deeper sense of purpose and a way to finally reconnect with my own voice. Finding ceramics was a liberation. Committing to the process full-time has been a transformative later-in-life career shift, proving that the most profound changes often happen exactly when we are finally ready for them. Now operating my laboratory of creativity in Newburyport, I translate a lifetime of design rigor into the tactile, meditative practice of handbuilding. My work is a record of this transition—moving away from the structured world of commerce and the demands of a busy household toward a more singular, quiet rhythm in the studio.
